time is simply not available. That is why choosing the right daycare is so extremely important. There are numerous characteristics that need to be considered when evaluating a daycare provider.  It is a good idea to make a list of things that are of importance to you and your child. Another good idea is to write down any questions you or your child might have about the facility, and take it with you to your visit.

Evaluation of the facility itself is a necessity. Careful inspection of the entire area can help to ensure that your child is being cared for in a safe environment. Consider the condition and cleanliness of any toys, play equipment, and areas that your child might be exposed to during his or her stay. Check to make sure the restrooms are adequate, sanitary diaper changing areas, and clean eating areas.

Interact with the staff. Ask questions about how various types of scenarios would be handled, their discipline practices, any educational activities offered, and the experience the staff members have in caring for children. Watch the interaction between the staff members and your child as well. Are they cheerful and patient? Do they seem distracted? Are there enough staff members to adequately care for your child?

Be sure to ask questions about the program itself to ensure that your child will be adequately stimulated throughout the day. Evaluate the ages and compatibility of other children within the facility.  Does the place cater towards older children or is it an infant daycare? Be sure that any licenses or certificates are up to date, inspections have been passed, and no complaints have been filed as well. Compare the pros and cons of various daycare providers before making a final decision.
